SURPRISING AVIATION

Your CV isn't getting through.
I'll tell you exactly where it stops.

I know what an airline CV is supposed to look like, and I’ll tell you, line by line, what’s holding yours back. Maybe you’ve been applying for months with no answer. Maybe you’re writing your first cabin crew CV.

Either way, you’re sending out a file nobody has ever read back to you.

TWO SITUATIONS

Recognise yours?

A cabin crew CV doesn't follow the rules of a standard one. That's why it's so hard to work out on your own what went wrong.

You've already applied

Weeks go by and nobody answers. You write to HR and get nothing back, and no airline ever tells you the reason. You keep sending the same file, hoping the next one goes better.

You're writing it now

You've put a CV together with what you had, but you don't know if the format is right, if your experience comes across well, if something important is missing.

THE SERVICE

What you get

A PDF that goes through your CV section by section. Yours to keep, and to reopen every time you update it. Your CV isn't just a document — it's your boarding pass to life on board.

The full read, line by lineStructure, order of sections, length, and what a recruiter sees in the first eight seconds.
The ATS readability check (Applicant Tracking System)Recruitment software filters candidates out before a recruiter reads anything. I tell you whether your file gets through and what blocks it.
Your experience, reworded the right wayThe difference between listing duties and showing results is almost always why a solid profile gets rejected.
What's missing and what should goWith the reason for each, so next time you make the call yourself.
A paragraph on the airlines you're aiming forRyanair, Wizz Air, easyJet, Emirates and Qatar don't look for the same thing. Your CV should know that.
The questions that CV will raise at interviewBecause a CV doesn't only get you through screening, it also decides what they'll ask you next.
One review, valid for every application you send. This isn't the check of a single application — you're fixing the document you'll use again and again.

Carmen Chermenschi, former Ryanair and Buzz cabin crew
WHO READS YOUR CV

That's me.

I'm Carmen. I became cabin crew at 40, after failing five assessment days. I flew for Ryanair and Buzz, and when I stopped flying I went back to the ground, at check-in for easyJet, Wizz Air, Turkish Airlines and Royal Air Maroc.

Your CV comes to my inbox, and I'm the one who opens it.

FAQ

How do I send you my CV?

By email to carmen@surprising-aviation.com, in Word or PDF format. The same file you send to airlines.

How long until I receive the review?

Within three working days of receiving both your CV and the completed form.

I'm applying to several airlines. Do I need to pay for several reviews?

No. One review covers the document you’ll use for all of them, and inside it I tell you what to adapt for each airline you’re targeting.

Why don't you just rewrite it for me?

Because then you’d have a good CV once. I tell you what to change and why, so you can do it yourself every time you update it.

My CV isn't in English. Can you still review it?

Yes. I read CVs in English, Italian, French and Romanian. Proofreading the language itself isn’t part of the service, but the content, the structure and the format are.

I have no aviation experience. Is it still worth it?

Often even more so. I had no experience in this industry at all when I started. Aviation is one of the few industries in the world where you can start with no experience and still build a real career, and cabin crew and check-in roles are exactly that door. Airlines usually train you themselves, so what they look for on a CV isn’t a background in aviation, it’s the way you handle people.

It’s rare, but some European airlines do ask for candidates who already hold a CCA (Cabin Crew Attestation). Most candidates have more relevant experience than they think, but it’s described in the wrong words, and that’s what the review focuses on.

Do you guarantee they'll invite me after this?

No. I improve your CV and remove what stops it from being read. The decision stays with the airline.

Can I have a second review after I've made the changes?

Not included in the €45. If you want one, write to me and we’ll see.

I'm not in Europe. Does that change anything?

No. Everything happens by email, so your time zone doesn’t matter. Prices are in euros and your bank converts the amount at checkout, at its own daily rate.

Do you only review CVs for European airlines?

No. A Ryanair CV, an easyJet CV and an Emirates or Qatar Airways CV aren’t built the same way, and the review follows the airlines you tell me you’re aiming for. Low-cost carriers, national airlines and Gulf carriers each read a CV differently, and that’s exactly what the paragraph on your target airlines is for.

Terms and conditions

No guarantee of an invitation. The service improves your CV and removes the errors that stop it from being read. Candidate selection remains entirely up to the airline, which decides on its own criteria.

Refunds. A refund is possible as long as the work hasn't started, meaning before I receive your CV and the form. Once the review document is delivered, the service is considered complete.

Delivery. The review is delivered as a PDF by email, within three working days of receiving both your CV and the completed form. Working days are Monday to Friday, French public holidays excluded.

Personal data. The CV I receive is used only to carry out the service, is never shared with third parties, and is deleted within 30 days of the review being delivered.

Payments. All prices are in euros. If your card is issued in another currency, your bank converts the amount at its own rate and may apply its own fees.
